The Basic Third is a next-generation, circular façade and roofing tile by Pretty Plastic, made from 100% recycled PVC sourced from construction waste, such as window frames, downspouts, and gutters. By transforming waste into a high-quality building material, it directly contributes to reducing the environmental impact of the built environment.
Measuring 30 × 50 cm and requiring fewer than seven tiles per square meter, the Basic Third delivers a highly efficient and cost-effective solution for large-scale applications. Its lightweight design and single-screw fixation enable fast installation, reducing labor time and complexity on site. The tile is certified according to international standards, ensuring proven performance and reliability. Available in 12 colors, the tile features three vertical relief bands that create a strong architectural expression, adding depth and rhythm to façades.
Flexible installation options – stacked or staggered, with variable overlaps – allow architects to shape distinctive and scalable designs. Custom relief patterns can be developed for larger projects, enabling further design freedom. Designed for circular use, the system is demountable, low-maintenance, and supported by a return policy, enabling reuse and closing the material loop. The Basic Third proves that circular materials can meet the demands of contemporary architecture – combining affordability, scalability, and design quality in one system.
