SAGA Vietnam Office by SAGA Space Architects

In the vibrant heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, SAGA Space Architects carefully restored a 130-year-old French colonial building into their Vietnam office – combining Nordic and Vietnamese design and culture. The renovation honors the original structure by revealing the old brick arches and using sustainable, biogenic, and repurposed materials.

Every intervention was non-destructive, preserving the building’s historical integrity while adapting it for a contemporary architectural practice. SAGA reclaimed the building’s former half-indoor, half-outdoor balcony, once a threshold space, as a lush reading and meeting room filled with plants and natural light. It now anchors the workspace with a calm, green core that bridges past and present.
