Before renovation, the structure was characterized by a multitude of functionally and spatially challenging situations. Access was into a dark and low room; the internal, vertical circulation was located in a stairwell at the edge; inside, there were many small, uncomfortable rooms; the connection to the garden was not ideal; and the spatial situation on the upper floor was also unsatisfactory.
The house was completely reorganized. This was mainly achieved through the new positioning of the staircase and the division into two non-overlapping stairs. The renovation maintains the dimensions of the existing layout. However, in the upper floor, the roof structure was raised and newly constructed. The area of the master bedroom was newly built as a set-back wooden structure instead of a very low roof area.
