Florence Lipsky
Lipsky + Rollet architectes, France
The Lipsky + Rollet studio was founded in 1990 by Florence Lipsky, professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Marne-La-Vallée, and Pascal Rollet, professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Grenoble. The studio develops architecture based on ecologically responsible construction and the view that cities are independent ecosystems. Their work is characterized by clarity on the one hand and everyday robustness on the other, where nothing is superfluous.
Florence Lipsky is deeply involved in the concepts of campuses as specific urban and residential territories. She creates buildings that are intended for education and research. In her work, she experiments extensively with new materials and innovative building systems that reduce energy consumption while increasing comfort in the building, which is perfectly reflected in the project for a seven-story wooden student residence in Paris.
She has also been active as a guest researcher at the University of California, Berkeley in the USA and in Kyoto, Japan.
