Italian Design Day 2025
Inequalities. Design for a Better Life.
Italian Design Day, this year at its ninth edition, is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation together with the Italian Ministry of Culture. It consists of an extensive programme of promotional events around the world, created by the network of Italian Embassies, Consulates, Cultural Institutes and Italian Trade Agency offices abroad.
The theme for this year, Inequalities. Design for a Better Life, aligns with the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition, addressing the urgent issue of growing inequalities in cities and the contemporary world, highlighting how design can help reduce social disparities and improve quality of life.
The Exhibition
Photography for Lifetime Achievement is a historical exhibition curated by the Italian Association for Industrial Design (ADI) that pays tribute to the connection between photography and design, showcasing images in poster format. The exhibition celebrates the masters of the Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement Award, reinterpreted through the lens of Italian photographers, both historical and contemporary. This initiative aims to highlight photography not only as a documentary tool but also as a creative medium that has contributed to the dissemination and success of Italian design.
The exhibition displays a selection of posters from the last two decades.
