Sofia Sidorenko (1963) has a position of full professor at Sts Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Skopje, North Macedonia.

Education:
• BSc in architectural design, Sts Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Architectural Design, Skopje, North Macedonia
• MSc in computer graphics, Sts Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Skopje, North Macedonia
• PhD in technical sciences, Sts Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Skopje, North Macedonia

Professional achievements:
As a graduated architect she was employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as a teaching assistant for descriptive geometry and technical drawing. Owing to her interdisciplinary education in 2003 she got an extraordinary opportunity to become one of the creators of industrial design as a new study program at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. A few years later, in 2008, she became one of the creators of the master study program Industrial Design and Marketing. Since that times she was involved in the whole evolution of these study programs, which became very popular for the students. She involved and developed many courses. Today she teaches three basic courses at the Industrial Design study program (Industrial Design, Product Design Ergonomics and Design Process) and two courses at the Industrial Design master study program(Ergonomic Methods and Bionics Methods).
During the past times, as a teacher with a great number of talented students she organized annual exhibitions of students’ projects. She also organized participation of her students’ presentations at the exhibitions at Skopje Design Week, Belgrade Design Week, Sofia Design Week, Milan Design Week. She was one of the editors of four published booklets with students’ projects.
In the period 2016-2023 she was Head of Institute of Engineering Design, Mechanization and Motor Vehicles.

Research interest
The scientific research interest of Sofija Sidorenko in the recent time is focused on application of ergonomic methods and bionics methods in the field of product design, with great number of published papers. She participated in several significant national and international scientific research projects, as a researcher or leader. Her current scientific work is dedicated to development of a methodology for bio-inspiration for architects, designers and engineers, with focus on its application in the education process.

Design interest
Her personal design interest is interior design, furniture design and design of lighting.
She was a leader of the design team for BRAKO-GREEN MACHINES from Veles, one of the most successful Macedonian companies (2020-2024). Together with her colleagues and students a new design for the street sweeper driver’s cabin was developed and its production already started.
