Architectural studio Puls*Ar was tasked with designing Sasha Hair Salon in Zagreb, aiming to create a space that stands out from typical salon designs. The owner, Saša Pušenjak, envisioned a salon where each client could feel comfortable in their own “micro space,” away from the gaze of others.
Inspired by a tram station, the design begins with a waiting area resembling a tram stop, where clients relax on benches before their “journey” begins. This theme continues throughout the space, with each workstation offering a sense of intimacy through mirrors that enhance privacy.
Influenced by urban life, the design captures dynamism and reflects the city’s rhythm – just as a tram ride offers brief moments of pause. Curved lighting, reminiscent of a highline, guides clients through the space, visually uniting each step of the process.
The result is a unique, innovative salon that blends creativity, privacy, and interaction with both interior and exterior elements.
