Orsolya Kern

Orsolya Kern DLA earned her degree in architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the Budapest University of Technology (BME). She defended her doctoral dissertation at the same institution in 2024, on the subject of built environment education.
Her prominent realized projects from a monument preservation perspective are: the renovation of the Dubniczay Palace in Veszprém in 2006 (a), the renovation and expansion of the Szeniczey-Deák Mansion in Paks in 2016 (b), and the new permanent exhibition showcasing the stones of the Coronation Basilica of Székesfehérvár in 2023 (c). Her architectural collaborators were: András Boór, Tibor Gerzsenyi, Tamás Karácsony DLA, Péter Klobusovszki DLA.
These have also received professional recognition: Pro Architectura Award 2007, Piranesi Honorable Mention 2007 (a) / Alfréd Forbát Award 2020 (b) / Media Architecture Award Special Prize for Interior Design 2024, Piranesi Award nomination 2025 (c) / ICOMOS Awards (a,b,c).
Alongside her design practice, she was previously an external lecturer at the BME Department of Public Building Design, and is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Debrecen.
