3 Questions for Neisako

Q: The armchair market feels saturated, yet with Omnia you have delivered something genuinely new and different. Do you ever share the feeling that “there is nothing left to invent?” Which parts of your creative process keep ideas fresh, for example research, prototyping, or collaboration?

A: We never really feel that there’s nothing left to invent — there’s always a new perspective hiding in how things relate, meet, and feel. With Omnia, we started from a perfect square and played with the geometry between convex and concave surfaces, exploring how these shapes could express calmness while supporting comfort. Much of our freshness comes from the physical side of design — sketching, modeling, and prototyping together with Prostoria’s team. The tactile experience of foam, fabric, and proportion always opens new ideas. For us, comfort begins with how a design looks, not just how it feels — and that duality keeps the process alive.

Q: Could you walk us through how Neisako and Prostoria work together from first sketch to production? Which decisions typically sit with the studio and which with the brand, and what habits or rituals help the partnership thrive and lead to an excellent result?

A: Our collaboration with Prostoria is very organic — it’s built on trust, dialogue, and curiosity. We start with shared discussions about function and context, then we explore geometry and ergonomics in our studio through sketches and 3D models. Prostoria brings deep technical know-how, especially in upholstery and foam molding, and their prototyping team translates our ideas into tangible forms. We exchange feedback continuously, refining comfort, proportions, and production logic until everything aligns. It’s a true partnership — each side challenges the other, but always toward a common goal: to achieve design that feels effortless, yet is full of subtle complexity.

Q: What is your view on sustainability, and how do you balance it with quality and cost pressures? Where do you look for the highest impact choices?

A: For us, sustainability begins with timelessness — creating something that lasts in both structure and emotion. If an armchair remains beautiful, relevant, and comfortable for decades, that’s the most responsible form of design. We also think carefully about materials and production methods: minimizing waste through efficient construction, using durable foams and fabrics, and designing pieces that can be easily transported or disassembled. With Prostoria, this balance between craftsmanship, technology, and longevity is always at the heart of the process.

About Omnia Armchair

The Omnia armchair extends the collection’s sculptural calm into a compact yet expressive form. Built upon a perfect square, its structure evolves into a graceful dialogue between convex and concave surfaces, shaping a shell that naturally guides posture while maintaining a poised silhouette. Inside, a layered upholstery system achieves exceptional comfort through the careful calibration of foam densities and soft inner contours that follow the body’s lines.

Omnia’s design reflects Neisako’s pursuit of harmony between geometry and emotion — its low profile integrates seamlessly into both residential and contract interiors, offering comfort without dominating the space. The armchair’s visual softness mirrors its tactile comfort, creating an immediate sense of ease even before one sits down.

A distinctive feature lies in the junction between the shell and the legs: engineered for easy disassembly and efficient transport, yet executed with sculptural precision that preserves elegance. Developed through Prostoria’s advanced cold-foam molding technology, Omnia embodies the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless form. The result is a piece that balances refinement and approachability — an armchair that invites stillness, comfort, and quiet sophistication.

Neisako is a Croatian design studio led by Neven and Sanja Kovačić, dedicated to creating innovative and meaningful product design solutions. Evolving from their earlier practice Redesign, the studio has operated under the name Neisako since 2020.

Their work spans various design disciplines, unified by a deep curiosity for the language of geometry and its ability to shape emotional and functional experiences. Each project begins with an investigation into the relationships between form, proportion, and human interaction, often resulting in objects that appear calm and intuitive yet reveal a refined structural logic.

For Prostoria, Neisako has designed several acclaimed pieces, including the Up-Lift and Pil-low sofa-beds, the Kontrapunkt recliner, and the Simetria coat stand. Through each collaboration, the studio continues to explore how geometry can convey balance, comfort, and poetic presence in contemporary living.
