Manta

When High-Tech Meets Performance

Kayaking is a sport rooted in tradition, yet constantly pushing its boundaries. The sport’s apparent immutability drives innovation. Enter Manta—the next generation of whitewater slalom kayaks, developed and co-designed by Ed Wolffhardt, Vice World Champion in Kayaking in 1997.

The key advantage of the Manta lies in its enhanced maneuverability and optimized stability during paddling, allowing for more precise cornering and giving it a clear edge in the slalom course. Additionally, the kayak’s shallow draft and the “fin effect” contribute to the superior performance of its carbon body, particularly during turns.

The design emphasizes these benefits. The side edge, forming a double wave (carving edge), facilitates smooth turning in tight corners. Tapered edges on the top hull provide space for the paddler’s legs, ensuring even volume distribution throughout the boat. The shape allows for a very shallow draft, while the curvature of the spray skirt is ergonomically tailored to fit the human body, creating a seamless connection between athlete and equipment.
