The project restores a historic complex of three stone-built buildings in Kalyviani, Chania, converting them into tourist accommodation. Built on a 420 m² plot, with a total area of 220 m², the volumes are organized around an internal courtyard, with water as the unifying element. The first, a two-story building, features a new internal opening, linking a bedroom to the ground floor through a metal-framed doorway. A perforated metal spiral staircase enhances vertical circulation, adding fluidity.
Cement injections reinforced the shell, while the old plaster was replaced with natural mortar, partially revealing the stone. Inside, exposed masonry contrasts with polished cement floors. In the second building, a concrete beam ties the stone walls together. Travertine flooring extends from interior to courtyard and pool. The third building, set on a higher level and accessed via a metal stair, transforms the old fireplace into a skylight. Cotto flooring extends into the courtyard, shaded by a metal pergola with reeds, forming an elevated gathering space.
