Alexandru Bunii is an award-winning jewelry designer and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Design. In addition, he serves as Program Coordinator for the English Master program Game Art. He lives and works in Timisoara, Romania.

He studied Design at the West University of Timisoara. After completing his university studies, he collaborated with and worked alongside well-known names in the jewelry industry. As co-founder of the jewelry design studio the.Sign.studio, he designed for brands such as Tatiana Faberge and Swarovski.
He is a member of JDPN USA (Jewelry Design Professionals Network) and Member and Honorary Advisor of IAJMPP Hong Kong (Int. Assoc. of Jewelery Merchandize Planning Professionals).

His design concepts and projects developed under his direction have received awards and nominations at jewelry-dedicated events in US, China/HK and South Korea. In his academic role, he has also coordinated and mentored students who achieved notable distinctions, including IF Design Student Award / Hansgrohe Design Prize and DesignEuropa Awards 2025 / Next Generation Award Winner.
