Freight Architects is a Singapore-based architectural practice founded on the belief that design should serve as both a social and spatial narrative connecting people, place and purpose. Established in 2014, the firm has steadily built a reputation for crafting contextually responsive architecture that balances practicality with refined spatial elegance.

The name Freight reflects the studio’s ethos as a connector of people, places and ideas. Each project is treated as a vessel for ideas, shaped by aspirations, culture and place, and becomes a point of convergence that fosters interaction and meaningful relationships. This philosophy anchors Freight Architects’ design approach, producing work that is grounded yet evocative, spatially rich yet attentive to human experience.

Freight’s work spans many typologies, all grounded in a human-centred approach. Residences are designed to balance privacy, comfort and connection with nature. Institutional spaces foster collaboration and community interaction, while childcare centres provide safe, fun and stimulating environments.

Among the firm’s notable works is The Reserve, winner of the SIA Design Awards 2025, recognised for its socially engaging and sustainable design that encourages community interaction and environmental responsiveness. Oku House, shortlisted for the SIA Architectural Design Awards 2025, showcases a poetic dialogue of light, materiality and spatial experience, creating an intimate and thoughtful residential environment. Sengkang Riverside Park Childcare Centre won the 2019 International Architecture Award and is celebrated for its innovative integration of nature, play and community engagement, offering a nurturing and stimulating space for children.
