Zemlya Collection Overview
Concept and Inspiration Zemlya, which translates to “earth” and refers to the clay from which Adam was created, embodies the essence of origins and beginnings. This collection reconnects with humanity’s roots, drawing on the ancient Trypillian culture of Ukraine and integrating traditional ceramic techniques with modern design. Serhii Makhno’s Zemlya collection reflects a deep connection to cultural heritage, eco-futurism, and innovative design.
Unique Features The Zemlya collection is distinguished by its large, intricate handmade objects:
– Furniture: sculptural and tactile, including massive lamps, biomorphic chairs, and monolithic benches and tables. The collection showcases unique ceramic techniques, such as flat, tubular, and curved structures.
– Lighting: features include towering lamps like the STUPA, futuristic designs like the QUADROLAMP, and nature-inspired creations like the BA-VOV-NA series. Innovative techniques simulate natural processes and textures.
– Decor: the QUADROPODS blocks offer versatile design applications as wall tiles, furniture components, or decorative pieces, allowing for creative interior compositions.
– Mirrors and washbasins: the PISOK line of washbasins and the OKO series of mirrors feature intricate glazing and artistic elements, merging traditional techniques with modern aesthetics.
