Villa Prior – Just Enough: The site is quietly magical: pines and heather growing in sandy soil between meadow and shoreline, shaped by wind, salt, and shifting seasons. Villa Prior is conceived as a tribute to summer, placed gently within the pine forest to allow the landscape to remain the primary presence. The house does not seek attention, but settles in its surroundings, subordinate to the beauty of the place. Life here is defined by contrasts.
Architecture balances openness and shelter; deep roof overhangs and covered spaces provide shade and protection from coastal storms. At the heart of the house lies a protected inner courtyard – a wind-sheltered room open to the sky that captures light and warmth, allowing summer life to linger beyond its calendar limits. The plan follows the timeless logic of the atrium house, where all rooms relate to both the courtyard and the wider landscape. Interior and exterior spaces flow together, creating generosity through light and movement. Villa Prior seeks what is just enough: a home providing precisely what is needed, letting nature fill the rest.
