Villa Pefki is a family-run complex of 5-holiday apartments, situated on a leafy hill near the city of Chania. The complex was built in the early 90s and was designed in respect of the surrounding environment and with references of the local and contemporary architecture. During 2016, the owner approached our studio in order to schedule the renovation of the interiors of the apartments in a five year plan. It was decided that the whole project will take place gradually and that each apartment will have its distinctive style and identity. In general, most of the existing furniture was transformed and renovated while keeping some elements of the original design. All the interior spaces were rearranged to be more flexible and comfortable. “Koukounari” and “Kyklamino” suites were the first to be renovated, as the smallest and the most “neglected” ones. Their open space of the living room and the kitchen were re-designed aiming an easy and cozy living. The bedrooms, with the addition of some modern furniture and lights, were upgraded to contemporary holiday standards. The colors and the materials of the apartments were inspired by the calmness of the surrounding environment and nature.
