Tête-à-Terra is a curiosity-driven spatial installation by ATÖLYE Architecture that explores regenerative design through contemporary interpretations of heritage building techniques. Using earth-made bricks formed from the unique soils of Cappadocia and recycled ceramic fragments, the project demonstrates a circular material approach rooted in both global and local contexts, while celebrating life, culture, dialogue, and hope.
Produced in Turkey and assembled in Eindhoven for Dutch Design Week, the pavilion takes the form of a temporary, dry-stacked structure built without mortar, glazing, or firing and finished with carnauba wax for outdoor durability. Two opposing walls form an intimate space for pause and chance encounters within a busy urban square. In an increasingly fast-paced, technology-driven world, Tête-à-Terra invites reflection on our relationship with nature and proposes locally grounded, regenerative approaches to architecture.
