The “Flavors of the Far – A Comfortable Apartment” project builds its identity through an atmosphere of sensual comfort and material depth. Inspired by the cultures of the Far East – Japan, India, and China – this is not a quote or decorative gesture, but a starting point for creating a mood based on harmony, rhythm, and mindfulness of matter. Stylistically, the interiors operate with a contrast of weight and softness. Dark, saturated colors dominate: deep browns, graphite, black, and off-white shades of ochre and mustard.

This palette creates a sense of warmth and security while also evoking associations with the natural pigments and dyes characteristic of Far Eastern craftsmanship. The patterns – present in the wallpapers, fabrics, and carpets – have an ornamental character, yet remain compositionally disciplined. They evoke motifs from Japanese woodcuts and Indian textiles.

Materials are a key carrier of meaning. Wood, with its dark yet warm tones, is treated with respect – as a material that gives interiors rhythm and depth. Stone appears as a heavy, almost meditative element: visually stable, contrasting with the softness of the fabrics. Ceramic surfaces and details add a crafted character and subtle imperfection to the interiors, close to the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. Textiles play an equal role to the architecture.
