Marta Naumovska Grnarova

ZAVAR Design, North Macedonia

Known as a regional leader in women entrepreneurship within the metal sector for her innovation- driven approach in company strategic development.

Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in welding and the design of metal welded structures. In 2018, she completed her Master’s degree at the same university in Industrial Management, focusing on the integration of design management as a strategic tool for innovation in SMEs.

She founded the brand Zavar Design, which specializes in designer radiators and unique heating objects that combine technology and art. Zavar Design has received numerous accolades, including being listed among the seven most influential design radiator brands and winning the Best Innovative Design award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) New York Metro.

Additional awards include the BIG SEE Design award (2018, 2023), a nomination for the German Design Award (2019), and winning the German Design Award (2020). In 2022, Zavar Design was awarded for Patent of the Year and received the Golden Key Design award. BIG SEE product design award for 2023 , Nomination for German Design award 2025 and BIG SEE Interior Design Award 2025.

Marta’s educational background includes various international programs: Manager Exchange Program Bristol (2004), Strategic Business Management Stockholm (2009) and Kuala Lumpur (2010), Export Marketing Strategy in Rotterdam (2010), Design Management Tokyo (2015), Executive Management at Kellogg Business School, Chicago (2018), Innovation Management Tokyo 2025.

In 2014, she founded MAMEI – Macedonian Association of Metal and Electro Industry to foster growth in the industrial sector through collaboration and mutual international market penetration.

Recognized for her strong leadership initiatives she is currently a Board Member of Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia 2025-2030.

Included proactively in broad of activities for promotion of the STEM and Industry sector regionally and Internationally as a mentor, lecturer, presenter and speaker.

Active Rotary member since 2014 and past president for Rotarian 2020-2021.
