The Mara urban bench series was developed for the town of Maribor – the town of the world’s oldest vine surrounded by green hills, but also the town once known for its car and textile industry. The benches are locally-made. The base consists of metal, and the seat and backrest are made of wood. They are designed in different dimensions, with longer, shorter, or no backrest, offering different possibilities of use. The Mara series all share a lace-shaped pattern cut out of the metal base and eventual backrest support. The pattern depicts the flower of the vine, the town’s most typical plant that grows in the surrounding hills and represents the local landmark.
