The project transforms a 1970s house overlooking the sea in Baia Caddinas, Sardinia, working with time as the true material of design. The memory of the house, deeply linked to the father of the Ferrara family, is neither frozen nor erased: it becomes the starting point for transformation. At the owners’ request, the traditional Sardinian, handcrafted furniture was preserved and integrated into the new space. Around these elements, the project builds a balance between what belongs to memory and what improves everyday living.

The architecture is conceived as a living sculpture. Externally, the volumes grow directly from the functions of the house: overhangs and projections follow interior spaces and necessary storage, generating a plastic mass that gradually opens toward the sea. Inside, the new wardrobes are carved into the walls, as cavities in the architectural mass, leaving the spaces visually clean and continuous. Continuous white surfaces amplify light and create a calm atmosphere, recalling primordial archetypes, such as the cave or the den.
