The concept was to create an enclosed space for the visitors to protect them from the wind and expose them to the sun according to the bioclimatic design. This luxury hotel in the island of Mykonos explores all the aspects of an integrated design, such as bioclimatic design, lighting design, building design, green design and sustainability in order to produce both an aesthetically and operative building in a natural protective site. Koukoumi 5* hotel, is the 1st and only vegan hotel in Greece. Koukoumi in the Myconian dialect means sheltered from the wind a place for snuggling. Situated in the heart of the island, in the traditional village of Ano Mera, Koukoumi was created to be a peaceful sanctuary for the sophisticated traveler. In this setting the studio tried to bring a breath of fresh air in hospitality, to show a more intimate side of the island and promote a new life philosophy.
