Kellogg’s Bremen by DMAA Delugan Meissl Associated Architects

In Bremen’s Überseestadt, one of Europe’s largest urban redevelopment areas, the former Kellogg’s production site on the Überseeinsel is being transformed into a mixed-use waterfront district. A central element of this refurbishment is the conversion of the iconic 1970s Kellogg’s silos into a hotel by DMAA, preserving their industrial character and symbolic presence along the Weser.

The 40-meter-high concrete cylinders now contain 117 circular and semi-circular hotel rooms, accessed through newly created connections between the silos. Narrow, vertical window openings offer framed views of the river. Adjacent former industrial buildings have been adapted to house offices, a market hall, restaurants, an in-house brewery, and public terraces, creating a lively ensemble that combines heritage, hospitality, and urban life.
