GARDEN ROOTS vases draw inspiration from the power and beauty of nature. The vases feature a distinctive crackling effect achieved through a meticulous process: hot, hand-blown glass is brushed with sawdust, quickly dipped in cold water, and then returned to the kiln for a final firing. This process creates a unique fragmentary effect, resembling the delicate veining of plants and their roots. When illuminated by sunlight, the vase’s intricate network of cracks creates a captivating display reminiscent of a fairy-tale forest.
Each vase is handcrafted from Czech crystal glass, mouth-blown into a wooden mold, and finished with meticulous hand-cutting and polishing to achieve a high gloss. Colored rubies are added to the molten glass to ensure a smooth color transition. The vases are also sandblasted to achieve a hand-cut and matted finish, enhancing their natural elegance and charm.
