Gábor Zombor, DLA architect, graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2000. After completing the Master School of the Hungarian Association of Architects and the Doctoral School of Architecture at BME, he obtained his doctoral degree with the dissertation *“Sufficient Architecture.”*Since 1997, he has been continuously involved in architectural higher education—first at BME, and later at the University of Debrecen—as an assistant professor and subsequently as an associate professor. From 1995, he worked in the studio of Bálint Nagy, and from 1999 in the studio of Tamás Karácsony. In 2006, he briefly joined the London-based practice of Tony Fretton. In 2004, he co-founded an independent architectural office with colleagues, which was later followed by his own studio: in 2009, he established monoSTUDIO. According to his professional approach, the essence of the creative process lies in a gentle architectural attitude which, through its specific tools and iterative working method, is capable of both preserving and creating at the same time. For him, the house is not a coded or metaphorical message, but remains a real, equivalent, and receptive object of use, where the life inscribed within it is more important than the architect’s self-expression. In his view, only in this way can architecture remain natural, neutral, and normal.
