The design of the vehicles was specifically developed for the city of Graz. The primary goal was to give the evolving city a distinctive and contemporary expression in response to its growing mobility demands. Special attention was paid to ensure that the modern tram is not merely seen as an industrial product but as an integral part of the public urban culture, seamlessly integrated into the city’s identity.
The color scheme of the vehicles deliberately aligns with the visual conventions of existing trams, subtly emphasizing them. An innovative feature is the front design, which already adheres to future European standards for pedestrian safety, making it the first of its kind nationwide in Austria. Particularly noticeable is the distinctive rounding of the front and the generous, fully flush front glazing. This contributes to a deliberately calm and timeless overall impression of the vehicle, subtly accentuated by the dynamic lighting design.
Overall, a balanced impression is created, which will significantly shape the cityscape of Graz for many years to come.
