
Flaka Xërxa Beqiri

Prof. Asst. Dr. Sc. Flaka Xërxa Beqiri is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Prishtina, where she also serves as Vice Dean for Quality and International Cooperation. In this capacity, she contributes to the faculty’s strategic development, the enhancement of academic standards, and the expansion of institutional partnerships at both national and international levels.
She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Maribor and a Doctoral degree from the University of Ljubljana, institutions recognized for their advanced programs in architecture and urbanism. Her academic formation has been further enriched through specialized modules at San Jose State University in the United States, where she engaged with contemporary architectural approaches and global practices.
Alongside her academic career, Xërxa Beqiri is actively involved in professional practice through Oxide Creative Lab, where she contributes to architectural and design projects that explore innovative and interdisciplinary approaches. She is also a co-founder of the MODERNe initiative and the Modern Architecture Festival, platforms dedicated to the research, promotion, and public discourse on modern architecture in Kosovo and the region.
Her work bridges academia, practice, and civic engagement, with a particular focus on advancing architectural culture and critical discourse. Her research has been presented and published in international journals and conferences, reflecting her ongoing commitment to scholarly inquiry and the development of the architectural field.
