On the corner of the bustling Veres Pálné street and Pilinszky thoroughfare lied once a tiny corner jewelry store. Bianca, the new owner asked us to transform it into an ultra-hyggelig bistro. Her dream was a cozy open-faced sandwich bistro whose ‘well-dressed’ savory offerings make the grade from Budapest to Copenhagen and beyond.
What makes this project one-of-a-kind?
Squeezing a fully-equipped prep kitchen, a serving counter and seating area into a 53 m2 space. Since the space is higher than wide we designed the vertical view and draw attention to a unique, ‘bespoke tailored’ chandelier.
About the authors
Budapest based architectural and interior design studio.
We believe architecture is about people. Whether we work on a family house, a loft for a bachelor or a coffee shop in the downtown our first question is: who will use this place and what is important to them? And the answers will shape the workflow from the very first step.
