Architect and Co-Founder of Rintala Eggertsson Architects | Norway

Dagur Eggertsson is an Icelandic architect and co-founder of Rintala Eggertsson Architects. Born in Reykjavik in 1965, he studied architecture at Aalto University in Helsinki and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, with additional studies at Cooper Union, Columbia University, and the International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design in Urbino. Since 2007, he has led Rintala Eggertsson Architects as architect and CEO, following earlier work with ArchUno, Snøhetta, Kari Nissen Brodtkorb Arkitektkontor, NOIS arkitekter, Dyrvik arkitekter, Lund Hagem, and BGO arkitekter.

Alongside practice, Eggertsson has taught and lectured internationally, holding visiting and academic roles at institutions including the Icelandic University of the Arts, Cornell University, the University of Virginia, the University of Arkansas, KTH in Stockholm, and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. He has also served on juries, boards, and committees for a range of architectural and cultural institutions in Norway, Iceland, and Sweden.

His work includes projects such as Fley sauna in Iceland, Tintra Footbridge, Harpefoss Art Arena, SALT, Dragonfly at Treehotel, PYR floating bath pavilion, Seljord Watchtower, and the Norwegian Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020. His projects have been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, MAXXI in Rome, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and have received several international nominations and awards.
