The concept of this project was to capture the tradition embedded in the bakers’ long-standing family craft and to create a space that highlights both their heritage and the products they make. A dark base of black walls, ceilings, and dark wood was chosen as a backdrop, enriched with natural elements inspired by the Rhodope Mountains – the bakers’ homeland – and Bulgarian traditions. This inspiration is reflected in the tile motifs, bronze lamp interiors, filament bulbs, wheat accents, and a ceiling adorned with woven bamboo sticks. The baked goods serve as the centerpiece of the design, complemented by these details.
A key feature is the wall behind the counter, symbolizing transparency between the customer and the baker while celebrating the essence of family. A circular window provides a view into the kitchen, framed by an artist’s depiction of a baker tending to the oven. This project weaves history, tradition, and attention to detail into every corner, creating an authentic and memorable space.
