Calistru Luiza-Elena, Romania, 2026

Nominator: Alexandra Ghioc
Nominator's statement
Luiza is a talented product and graphic designer whose professional journey reflects both dedication and originality. A graduate of the Faculty of Visual Arts & Design, Iasi, with a specialization in Product Design, she quickly distinguished herself through her ability to combine creativity with functionality. After completing her studies, she co-founded a design studio in Iași together with a colleague, where she has collaborated with both companies and individuals, delivering projects that range from product design and packaging to branding and illustration. What makes her remarkable is the versatility with which she approaches each project, as well as her attention to detail and her commitment to authentic, purposeful design. She consistently demonstrates curiosity, perseverance, and an innovative mindset, qualities that make her stand out among young designers. I believe she fully deserves the BIG SEE Perspectives Award nomination, as her work reflects cultural awareness, originality, and the ability to create design solutions that inspire, connect, and add long-lasting value.
THE BOOK HOUSE URBAN LIBRARY

The Book House urban library is an innovative product design project that redefines the reading experience in an urban environment. Inspired by the charm of a traditional small house, it combines a friendly aesthetic with an inviting atmosphere, encouraging the discovery of books in an intimate, functional, and appealing setting.
THE HIVE STAND

The Hive Stand plant support is a project created with the aim of highlighting the beauty of plants and home décor objects. Its innovation lies in its placement behind a sofa, providing additional storage space. The shelves are detachable and cleverly interlock, forming a unified structure through LEGO-like joints integrated on the inside of the tubes.
COSMETIC PACKAGING FAMILY

This reusable packaging family is designed with sustainability and user experience at its core. Made from eco-friendly materials, each container is refillable through separately purchased reserves, reducing waste and encouraging long-term use. The pump features a subtle angled design, improving ergonomics and making it easier to use during shower routines, adapting naturally to the position of the hand.
The inner form of the bottle highlights a fluid, organic shape inspired by molecular structures commonly found in cosmetic formulations such as shampoos and creams. This visual element not only reinforces the product’s identity but also creates a distinctive and elegant aesthetic, blending functionality with a refined, science-inspired design language.
