MOL Slovenija embarked on a journey to find a better-suited work environment for their teams, seeking an engaging, people-centric workplace that boosts individual and team performance while supporting the company’s trust-based, collaborative culture. MOL Slovenija explored many different options, such as upgrading the old workplace or renting another office in an existing building, before concluding that they needed their own purpose-designed building. In Kragelj Architects, they found an expert partner to develop the design and assist with change management. At the start, Kragelj conducted thorough research to understand how employees communicate and work together, as well as the strategic plans of the organization. Moving to an open-plan office was a common reservation since people were under the impression that open space must be noisy and chaotic. The actual design addressed every concern, and MOL Slovenia’s new home looks nothing like the stereotypical, hectic open office. The workplace is clearly organized and transparent while providing ample privacy. The workstation areas are quiet, and employees can also choose from a wide variety of individual and team settings best suited to the task at hand. As they explore the workplace, they find a series of welcoming and unique spaces; no two rooms are the same.
