The apartment is located in a residential building in Prague’s Vinohrady district, dating back to the early 20th century, with a total area of approximately 120 m². The layout includes two bedrooms and a shared living space with a kitchen, forming the natural center of the home. The design concept is based on a sensitive balance between the building’s historical character and a contemporary, calm way of living. The interior uses a soft, muted color palette and timeless materials that highlight the original architectural qualities of the space.
During the renovation, the original doors and windows were replaced with high-quality replicas, helping to preserve the apartment’s authentic atmosphere. Wooden parquet flooring is used throughout, in a larger format than traditional historical patterns, and laid in a chevron design. This detail references historical craftsmanship, while also bringing a modern and unifying element to the interior. The kitchen combines walnut veneer with ceramic surfaces featuring a marble pattern. In the living area, subtle color accents are introduced through soft orange shelving and green velvet chairs. Due to the limitations of the original layout, a separate bathroom unit was inserted into the main bedroom. It is designed using satin-finished glass to maintain a light, airy feel while allowing daylight to pass through. The bedrooms follow the same material and color concept as the rest of the apartment, reinforcing its calm and cohesive character.
