The new Erlebnis-Hus in St. Peter-Ording completes the expanded beach promenade and serves as an inclusive meeting place for visitors of all ages. Rooted in local identity, its design is inspired by traditional pile construction. An exposed laminated timber framework contains five oversized, solid wood cubes positioned at different heights. Developed as a sustainable and innovative solution, the building enhances the site socially and touristically.
Each cube has a specific function: an analog game space, information center with shop, restaurant, staff office, and sanitary facilities. Enclosed on three sides and open on one with large windows, they offer wide views of the sea and surrounding landscape. Terraces and stairs create multi-level accessibility, while a concrete core ensures structural stability. Integrated play elements invite exploration and interaction throughout the building.
