The question of how much privacy a house should provide was taken to extremes in modernism through highly transparent, pavilion-like villa types, demonstrating that the appropriate degree of openness strongly depends on the surrounding context. Located a few kilometers from Lake Wörthersee, at the edge of a small village, the single-family house enjoys a protected and attractive setting with views of forest and meadows.

These qualities are celebrated architecturally through a strong opening of the house to the outside, featuring large-scale glazing and expansive terraces that balance the interior living area. Inside, largely open-plan spaces allow functions such as cooking, living, and working to flow seamlessly into one another. Distinct built-in elements structure both the spatial continuum and the elongated building volume. Sensuous materials such as exposed concrete, dark-stained oak, and natural stone add warmth and contrast to the otherwise dominant use of glass, resulting in a precisely composed house that connects contemporary living with the surrounding landscape.
