Household Practice by FELT architecture & design

Hidden behind a narrow alley in a dense urban block, an irregular inner parcel has been transformed from thirteen anonymous garage boxes into a compact ensemble, combining a family home, a yoga studio, and a small café.

Two volumes are placed along the plot’s edges, reusing the existing high boundary walls. Glass connectors link them and frame a central city garden. This layout optimizes orientation, creates privacy, and offers carefully framed views. Separate entrances distinguish public and private functions, while maintaining one coherent whole.

The café and studio face the street and act as a buffer for the dwelling. Large windows connect the project to the neighborhood. The house opens fully to the south-facing garden through a generous glass façade. Inside, a sculptural stair organizes the split levels. Prefabricated timber, wooden ceilings, and terracotta floors shape a warm interior. Outside, beige brick gives the volumes a calm, monolithic presence.
