Perched above the village of Tiers, South Tyrol, the Ansitz Velseck Residence Hotel unites centuries of history with contemporary architecture. The sensitive expansion of the historic estate creates a retreat where tradition and modernity coexist in harmony. Set on a sunlit clearing with panoramic Dolomite views, Velseck preserves its historic manor while carefully extending it into the landscape.
The new structures are embedded in the natural slope, their volumes discreetly tucked into the terrain to minimize visual impact and maintain the estate’s historic silhouette. Green roofs allow the new parts to merge seamlessly with the surrounding meadow. Delicate walkways connect the existing manor, service buildings, and chapel with the new guest rooms and wellness area. Inside, bright dining halls, a reinterpreted restaurant, and a serene spa open toward the mountains. Larch wood, exposed concrete, and glass define a timeless, grounded atmosphere.
