Perched on a steep hillside in Jouret El Ballout, Lebanon, the Collège Louise Wegmann extension transforms a challenging slope into opportunity. The U-shaped building lifts from the ground to connect courtyards, preserving the existing playground and minimizing intervention to the natural terrain. Stepping down the hill, volumes unfold along choreographed circulation that frames valley views, floods interiors with daylight, and turns movement into a shared, social, and spatial experience.
Sheltered outdoor spaces, double-height volumes, and playful circular windows foster interaction, while painted and raw concrete, and leaf-patterned walls dialogue with the landscape. By turning topography into a design advantage, the project cultivates curiosity, community, and a vibrant campus life.
