Zlatko Kapetanović

University of Zagreb - Faculty of Architecture, Design Department, Croatia

Full time professor (retired since 2022).

Born in Zagreb in 1953. He completed his primary and secondary education in Zagreb. He holds a Master of Science, a Bachelor of Industrial Design. He graduated in 1976 from the California Institute of the Arts, School of Design, majoring in product design. The diploma was recognized in 1977 at the University of Zagreb. He received his master’s degree from the University of Zagreb in 2006.

Memberships in organizations:
Participated in founding the Croatian Designers Society in 1983 where he was a member of the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the Court of Honor.

He is a member of the Council for Exhibition Activities of the Croatian Designers Society.

Member of the team for the development of National Design Strategy, MRRŠVG RH, 2008

Member of the team for the development of Strategy for the development of furniture design in the Republic of Croatia, MRRŠVG – Directorate for the Wood Industry, 2009

Activities within the profession:
Participated in the establishment of the Croatian Designers Society in 1983, where he was a member of the Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, Court of Honor. He is a member of the Council for Exhibition Activities of the Croatian Designers Society. Member of the team for the development of the National Design Strategy, MRRŠVG RH, 2008 Member of the team for the development of the Strategy for the Development of Furniture Design in the Republic of Croatia, MRRŠVG – Directorate for the Wood Industry, 2009.

1986 – 1990: Department of Design at the Electrical Engineering Institute Končar

1990 – 1997: Croatian Association of Freelance Artists, status of freelance artist

Since 1997: Design School of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, in which he has been continuously participating since 1989.

2006 to 2010: head of the Design School.

In 2011: acting head of the Design School.
