Hiša gibanice – Skupina HUDO DOBRO

In 2022, the HUDO DOBRO group from Pomurje founded the House of Gibanica, expanding their product range to include Prekmurje and Prlekija gibanica, for which they obtained all necessary certifications. They bake the pastries in traditional clay pots, offer tasting sessions, workshops, and use locally sourced, sustainable ingredients.

Beročka, Herbija Prlekija Insitute, Ljutomer – Musical Tradition of Slovenia

The prominent feature of Beročka (Selma Franov and Marinka Prelog) is uniting two female vocals in their presentation of traditional music without musical accompaniment. The first album Love is not for sale, a compilation of traditional songs from Prlekija, Prekmurje and Medžimurje, was published in 2021. The second album is to be published by the end of this year. Special achievements, among many, are first prize at the national competition of traditional music performers of Slovenia in the years 2022 and 2023 and the performance at the final evening of Medžimurska popevka in 2023 and 2024.

Beročka is a dialect word from Razkrižje, where it was used as a traditional measure for flour, beans, feed, a two-hand scoop which as the name for a singing group takes on a deeper simbolic meaning. Beročka is scooping up forgotten musical traditions from, reviving them and offering them to the present and future generations.
