PLA2 Floating Villa

A private floating unit, construction of which commenced in 2019 and was completed in 2021, is also situated on Sinakharin Lake in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, carrying forward the legacy of Z9 Resort. Focused on sustainability, PLA2 seamlessly incorporates curved lines that blend with the natural surroundings, setting a remarkable new standard for eco-friendly design. The success of this project inspired us to expand the Z9 project alongside PLA2.

During construction, we actively nurtured the nearby forest, creating an inviting landscape for all visitors. To optimize energy usage, PLA2 cleverly shares electricity on-grid when it’s close to the shore and off-grid when it’s farther away, helping to optimize energy consumption. The materials chosen for PLA2, such as wood and lightweight steel for the structure, along with a faux shingle roof for energy conservation, were carefully selected to suit the local context and usage conditions.

PLA2 also utilizes closed-circuit water treatment systems to ensure that water is treated before being discharged into the lake. Despite its robust balloon frame ensuring durability, PLA2 maintains its attractive aesthetics, proving that sustainability doesn’t mean compromising on appearance. Overall, PLA2 showcases our dedication to sustainable living, offering a unique and eco-friendly experience for all while preserving the natural beauty of the area.
