The easy chair features an innovative joint solution that reimagines the traditional tufting technique used in upholstery. It showcases jewelry-like, 3D metal-printed fittings that not only lend a striking appearance but also serve a structural purpose. These fittings help maintain the ergonomic shape of the comfort foam through mechanical distortion, reducing waste during production. Additionally, the components of the shell are designed to be easily separable and recyclable at the end of the chair’s lifecycle, as they do not require glue.
The hard elements, reminiscent of architectural wall tie bars, sink into the soft, cloud-like foam of the chair, symbolizing anxiety and inner tension while contributing to its unique aesthetic.
