The Country House for My Daughter’s Family: Architects merely respond to the possibilities of our pre-existing cultural landscape. Located in Southern Styria, this country house points toward the future through its articulated building mass. The logical spatial arrangements will shape my grandson in this house; he will unconsciously carry this within him throughout his life, and it will form a foundation for his future.

The separation of living and working spaces: Through the building’s form and surfaces. The visual and tactile textures. The spacious, open-plan kitchen/living area, with its pitched roof and dormer window. The shifting incidence of light. The democratic allocation of all bedrooms to the south, featuring larch beams. The office area, with its panoramic views and adjoining wooden terrace. The clear layout of the outdoor spaces and access routes.

The architect, father, and grandfather is proud to have realized such a project, and time will tell how it is received. It should also be noted that such a life project can only succeed through personally grounded and open-minded individuals. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this success.
