Land by Masquespacio; Italy

The installation celebrates Poggi Ugo turning 100 years as one of Italy’s most important and ancient furnaces and features a refined styling of a centuries-old material. The project proposes new aesthetic visions for the use of terracotta as an innovative design material using form and color as the key elements.

Masquespacio have interpreted terracotta as a refined synthesis of art and nature. Taking inspirations from the past and the present and creating a dialogue between them, Land evokes a new aesthetic vision, a creative example of the contemporary metamorphosis that terracotta goes through when dexterity meets design.

About the authors

Masquespacio is an award winning creative consultancy created in 2010 by Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse. Combining the 2 disciplines of their founders, interior design and marketing, the Spanish design agency creates custom-made branding and interior projects through a unique approach that results in fresh and innovative concepts. In 2019, they have been awarded ‘Interior Designers of The Year’ by the Spanish edition of The New York Times’ T Magazine. Previously they also have been awarded with the ‘Massimo Dutti New Values’ award by Architectural Digest Spain and the ‘Wave of the Future’ award by Hospitality Design USA, next to a continued international recognition by media specialized in design, fashion and lifestyle trends. They have worked on projects in several countries like Norway, USA, France, Portugal, Germany and Spain.

Since 2018 they are also co-partners of Houtique, defining the visual strategy of the furniture and lighting brand.

Actually they are working on several hotel and restaurant projects in Spain, Germany and USA.
