JURO collection

The JURO collection, designed by Tomáš Král for JAVORINA, is a sophisticated tribute to Slovak culture and craftsmanship. This versatile furniture series draws inspiration from the iconic rounded hat of Juraj Jánošík, a legendary Slovak folk hero, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary design. “When designing for JAVORINA, I aimed to honor its core values and sought inspiration in Slovak culture,” explains Král. “The JURO collection embodies not only my personal style but also a piece of poetry and Slovak tradition.”

The collection includes coffee tables, a bench, bar stools, and tabourets. Each piece translates the simple rounding principle of Jánošík’s hat into precise, functional design. The coffee tables, available in two sizes, can be arranged in various compositions and optionally combined with the JURO tabouret. The result is furniture that not only serves its purpose but also tells a story, bringing a touch of Slovak heritage into modern interiors.

Tomáš Král, a native Slovak and graduate of the Slovak University of Technology, furthered his education at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he currently teaches. Recognized as a representative of contemporary Swiss design and honored with the Swiss Federal Design Award in 2010, Král’s work is noted for its playfulness, color, and graceful geometry.
