He graduated from the Vienna University of Technology in 2006. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked as a structural engineer for concrete, steel, and timber buildings (www.kppk.at), then as a research engineer and project manager at the Swedish Technical Research Institute SP.

He is currently working on adapting the fire safety of solid wood elements and lightweight building materials to design rules that could be applied. In addition to his work in the field of national standardisation, he is also active in CEN/TC 250 (static Eurocodes) and TC 127 (fire safety in buildings) and is a member of the Fire Safe Use of Wood network. His field of work also includes advising architects and investors on building elements and teaching structural engineers and students.
