On a steep hillside plot, a compact, 2.5-storey single-family home with an attached garage was designed. The clear, simple volume with a gabled roof is carefully embedded into the slope, with the garage and service rooms cut into the terrain, and the living spaces opening towards the valley.
A straight, central staircase structures the layout and connects all levels. The upper floor accommodates the bedrooms and bathrooms, while terraces extend the living areas to the outside. The surrounding terrain remains largely untouched, with only minimal reshaping to allow outdoor living at ground level. The construction combines concrete and brick for the slope-facing parts and timber-frame for the valley side and upper storeys. The façade is clad with vertical, pre-greyed spruce boards in varying widths, creating a natural, vibrant surface. Grey-stained timber windows and restrained metal details emphasize the calm and timeless character. Energy efficiency is achieved with triple-glazed windows, high insulation standards, and a ground-source heat pump.
