At the Herolerhof Estate in Lüsen, a new home reinterprets Alpine building culture in quiet dialogue with contemporary clarity. The compact, gabled volume is rooted in the slope, transforming the traditional farmhouse typology into something reduced, precise, yet familiar.
Its material palette – beige-grey plaster, untreated wood, and generous glazing – reflects the surrounding landscape and merges interior with exterior. Inside, spaces follow a clear order: an open living area, a protected sleeping tract, and service rooms form the family dwelling, while three light-filled holiday apartments open directly onto the Alpine scenery. An underground garage and storage are discreetly embedded in the terrain, complemented by a farm shop and tasting room as a welcoming, public focal point.
Through restrained design, sustainable construction, and sensitive integration, the Herolerhof embodies a contemporary continuation of Alpine tradition – quiet, timeless, and deeply connected to its place.
