Helinä Lehtonen graduated in cultural management from Humak University of Applied Sciences. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in creative business management and international design business management at Aalto University.

She has experience from several design projects, both in Finland and abroad, including Berlin. In 2009–2011, she worked as a project designer and producer for the Turku Design Phenomena project, which was part of the ECC Turku 2011 program and included workshops, networking, and exhibitions in Berlin and Budapest. She also conceived and coordinated the Turku Design Festival 2011.

She recently participated in the 365 Wellbeing project, part of the Helsinki 2012 World Design Capital program. This project for the Helsinki City Health Center will be presented in autumn 2012 at the Design Cares exhibition as part of Helsinki Design Week and Dutch Design Week.
