Folkeparken School in Kristiansund is designed as a learning landscape, where architecture, nature, and community grow together. Built to Passive House standards and equipped with integrated solar panels, the project reflects Poetic Architecture studio’s vision of poetic and regenerative architecture – combining low energy use with a strong social and cultural impact.
The school is located on the edge of forest and parkland, allowing nature to flow directly into the learning environment. Outdoor areas extend the classroom and encourage play, exploration, and physical activity, while flexible indoor zones, daylight, and robust, natural materials create a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The material palette – RTM 545 Atlas Brick from Randers Tegl, eloxated aluminum C33, and Swisspearl panels – ensures durability and timeless character. Folkeparken School is conceived as more than a building: it is a framework for well-being, resilience, and future learning, serving both students and the wider community.
